Watercolors that are not hidden behind glass. Stories told in acrylics. Oil/cold wax used to enhance. Bits of the unexpected.

Curiosity drives me to continue to try the “what ifs.” Capturing the energy of the subject so that you can feel that essence when you stand in front of one of my paintings. That is my reason for creating art. Imagine the wonder that you will sense as one of my paintings is hanging in your home. They inspire me in my studio. Some spark vivid memories and some radiate a sense of serenity.

Northern mountain peaks and the Maine coast are embedded in my psyche. Come with me on my journey as I play and experiment with telling my stories. If my art speaks to you and you share my enthusiasm for nature let’s see if one of my paintings will bring energy to that empty space in your home.

My Happy Space

Make it stand out

I use a non-traditional method to finish my watercolor paintings. They are painted on 100% cotton watercolor paper with professional grade paints. When finished, they are mounted on wood panels, sprayed with a UV protection and finally two coats of a wax with resin paste are applied to seal and protect the painting from moisture and humidity. This allows them to be displayed without hiding them behind glass. They can be hung with or without a frame. I have chosen to mount some in simple frames and others have sides that are painted or left natural for a contemporary look.
